Acrylic on sewn linen and canvas

The scene is from window; an evening shadow of the neighbours chimney on the opposite street wall.  It is am image I feel that is soon to die out in contemporary London with all the sky scrapers being built. Using segments from the famous map of London,1746 by John Rocque I give this scene a surround of the old London to settle itself in so its not lost in the hustle and bustle of modern day London. This particular area, when the famous map of London,1746 by John Rocque was drawn up was the meat and vegetable region of London, hence the names of the streets - which always intrigues me when I bike around this city. The 'Gherkin' (which I feel is an appropriate name given the area) is juxtaposed as a contemporary insert to exact location.
