Portrait

Portraits are generally done on commission and executed in pastel. I never work from a photograph unless I really have to. I don’t think you capture the essence of the person if you don’t sit and observe them. Sittings are normally two hours and I often play a video so that the sitter is not bored. I complete a full colour portrait in about three sittings. Portraiture is a wonderful way of getting to know someone and I enjoy doing them.
